Ar y Tracs (On the Tracks)

'A feel-good drama about a South Wales train crew' (Western Mail)

Ar y Tracs (On the Tracks) is a festive comedy by Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey) with Catrin Dafydd. Set on board the Swansea to London train, the drama shows the different characters thrown together by the journey.

Ruth explains, 'for many people, travelling on a train is part of their everyday routine, but for others it's an event - maybe only an annual event. I just love the idea of there being all these different people from different backgrounds with different things going on in their lives, all going on the same journey.'

Ar y Tracs won two 2009 BAFTA Cymru awards for Best Sound (Gareth Meirion Thomas / Simon H Jones) and Best Costume (Ffion Elinor), receiving two further nominations for Best Editor (Mali Evans) and Best Director: Film/Drama (Ed Talfan).

The drama was first broadcast by S4C on December 20th 2009 at 9pm with English subtitles available. The 'making-of' documentary was broadcast on December 18th.
