A Mind to Kill
Beginning its run on the Welsh broadcast service HTV in 1995, A Mind to Kill was a series of two-hour mystery-dramas starring Philip Madoc as Detective Chief Inspector Bain. Described as A Touch of Frost with a Welsh accent, the series found the methodical Bain rooting out killers more by instinct than by sciences.
The series was broadcast in 21 episodes over five seasons, on Channel 5 and HTV in Wales and around the world including Spain, Italy, Germany and Australia. The series was originally filmed with both English and Welsh versions of each episode.
The series won a BAFTA Cymru award in 2001 for Best Sound (Dai Shell).
