Watch the Hinterland theme on solo harp

Harpist Llywelyn Jones plays the title theme from Hinterland/Y Gwyll.

Hinterland title theme arranged for solo harp

Original title theme recording

The Hinterland/Y Gwyll title theme features the memorable ‘Hinterland’ melody, which is threaded throughout the series soundtrack. In the original title theme recording, the melody is predominantly constructed from piano and harp which are both performed and recorded in unconventional ways, with strings and other special effects also included.

In this new version for solo harp, specially arranged by the John Hardy Music team, the melody appears in a new light. The music is performed in this exclusive recording by harpist Llywelyn Jones at the John Hardy Music studio in Cardiff, recorded and filmed by the JHM team. This video is the second in our series of studio session films, following the first of these showcasing the theme The World Keeps Turning.
