Dead Long Enough
In this Irish-Welsh romantic comedy Ben Jones (Jason Hughes) is a fed-up Welsh lawyer who lives in the shadow of his promiscuous, larger-than-life TV celebrity brother Harry (Michael Sheen). Ben hankers after his lost love, the fiery red-headed Sinead (Angeline Ball), but in a fit of pique decides to accept the marriage proposal from his brow-beating girlfriend Ceri Sian.
Harry decides that he must do something 'good' for his brother - in fact he must bring him back to Ireland where the boys had a great time in their youth. This act of 'generosity', combined with a recce for a future television programme begins a series of events that will change their lives forever but 'in a good way', where everyone gets a second chance, sort of.
Dead Long Enough was nominated for a BAFTA Cyrmu award for Best Film and received the Audience Award at the Cardiff Screen Festival 2005. The film stars Michael Sheen (The Queen, Frost/Nixon), Jason Hughes (Killing Me Softly) and Angeline Ball (The Commitments).
