Y Pris/The Price
This award-winning drama follows the roller-coaster lives of gangsters in South-West Wales.
With black humour, violence and tragedy this daring and contemporary new drama has been described as 'The Sopranos by the seaside.' Set in Carmarthenshire, Y Pris (The Price) follows the tangled lives of a group of loveable gangsters. The series stars Philip Madoc, Nia Roberts and Catrin Arwel.
Y Pris – “Sopranos ger y lli”, mae’r gyfres ddrama yma yn dilyn bywydau cymhleth grwp o gangsters o Orllewin Cymru. Canolbwynt y ddrama yw Lyn Edwards, sy’n cael pwysau’r byw wedi gollwng ar ei ysgwyddau pan syrthia'i dad yn sal. Mae Lyn yn ceisio jyglo creisis teuluol, cariad newydd, y bygythiad yn erbyn ei ymerodraeth gyffuriau, a gwleidyddiaeth y Frawdoli’eth – y gyfundrefn maffia hynafol sy’n rhedeg pop dim yn yr ardal. Yn ceisio ffeindio’i ffordd yn y dyfroedd dyfnion yma, gyda chymorth ei ffrindiau, mae’n rhaid iddo gadw’r ddesgl yn wastad gan weithredu hen ffyrdd ei dad ac ar yr un pryd hefyd sefydlu ei hun gyda’r Frawdoli’eth.
Cwmni Fiction Factory, sydd hefyd yn gyfrifol am gyfresi Caerdydd, yw cynhyrchwyr Y Pris. Ymhlith y cast mae enwau cyfarwydd fel Philip Madoc, Nia Roberts, Rhodri Meilir, Matthew Gravelle, Mark Lewis Jones, Huw Ceredig, Jams Thomas, Aled Pugh a Catrin Arwel.

John Hardy and Rob Love of Alabama 3 were awarded the 2007 BAFTA Cymru for Best Original Music for Y Pris.
In March 2009 the first series of Y Pris won the award for Best Drama Series at the 30th Celtic Media Festival.
The first series was broadcast on S4C during 2007 and second series from April 2009. Y Pris is written by Tim Price, spotted by The Western Mail as 'One of the Magnificent Seven (talents of the year)’. The series is produced by Fiction Factory, S4C and Tinopolis.
