Told in two timelines, the story opens in 1995 when activist Llyr Owen dies in a bombing and his cousin Rhys is jailed. Thirty years later Rhys returns to a town again split by protest. Trainee journalist Caryl investigates, uncovering long-hidden secrets that have shaped the community, in a tense drama of protest, guilt and generational reckoning.

The second series stars Siân Reese-Williams as Caryl Huws, Mark Lewis Jones as Rhys Owen, Nia Roberts as Eve Davies and Robert Glenister as Robert Davies.
